I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  We spent time with family and just relaxed, which was exactly what I needed.  Here's to another wonderful weekend, and the lovely fact that we still have snow on the ground!  We got another few inches last night and it's just beautiful.  Take time this weekend to relax after the hustle and bustle of the holidays and soak up the rest of 2012.  2013 will be here in a few short days, looking forward to it!

How much fun would it be to put together holiday gift guides?!  A lot.  However, I came across this amazing gift guide from to & from magazine and they've already done the work for us... and they've done a great job at that!  It includes some of my favorite bloggers and spans almost every category you can think of - categorized by family member, interests, life stage, etcIt's also got some great DIY projects you could whip up yourself and seriously impress the giftee by doing so.

Go check it out, you'll be glad you didClick here for the eye candy!

Anyone out there putting together their own gift guides?  You must share if you do!

Given that it's the last Friday before Christmas, I thought some beautiful images that capture the warm 'n fuzzies of the season would be the perfect way to wrap up the week.  Have a truly wonderful holiday season and enjoy time with loved ones, bundling up (at least here) and resting in the grace of God's gift to us.  Enjoy!

It's that time again!  The past few months summarized in some scrolling pictures... although you could probably call it "random pics of the cats" and be a little too close to accurate.

Enjoy your day!  I know you're just as guilty when it comes to pet photos on the phone.

I have found myself reading and re-reading this verse many times over the past several years.  It sticks out to me and allows me to let go of it all and completely and fully rely on God.  We can get so caught up in what we need to do, or so stressed out about issues we're dealing with, that we forget that the creator of the universe is on our side.  And has a perfect plan for us if we will just let Him have control.  It's pretty comical sometimes, the effort I put into having control and trying to make things go my way when I am not and never will be in control, and thank goodness for that!  God's plan is always infinitely better.

Have such a wonderful weekend!  And remember, God will always take care of you.  REST in that!

This past weekend, my mom, my brother's girlfriend, and I spent then entire afternoon baking (and sampling) all kinds of Christmas cookies.  We turned up the carols, whipped out the ingredients and mixed, baked and tasted until we had about a half a dozen different kinds.

Aren't these Rudolphs so much fun?  My brother's girlfriend found the recipe and not only are they the most festive cookies, but they are seriously good too.  You can find the recipe here.

His and her's snowmen, anyone?  I wasn't quite done with them at this stage...

I took home a bunch and the rest are for Christmas day!  My fav are the melting moments, the red and green ones... delish!

It has been unseasonably warm and dry here, but Sunday, we're set for below freezing temperatures and snow!  And believe me, it is welcome!  Have a wonderful weekend whereever you are, and bundle up if necessary.  As for me, I'll be in front of the fire with a blanket.

We all know the holiday season is a busy one, so I thought it would be a good idea to create a list of fun things to do during this perfect time of year before we hustle and bustle through December and wake up and realize it's 2013.

So take a minute to relax, enjoy the season and the celebration of our Savior's birth!  Even though I'm definitely thankful on Thanksgiving, I find myself even more so during the Christmas season.  Pick your favorites from this list (or create your own!) and make sure to take the time to enjoy crossing them off so you can look back and know you soaked it all up.

What's on your list?  Here's ours!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh we had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  A few months ago I signed us up for the Turkey Trot and so we watched a bit of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and then headed out into the (somewhat) cold to get our trot on.

It was Ryan, my mom and I.

After the trot, we headed over to Ryan's grandmother's house and spent the day with that side of the family.  And of course, we ate.  A lot.  I didn't get a picture of us until we got home and this might be the blurriest picture ever, but I still wanted to snap one for the record.

We really do have so much to be thankful for this year - God's grace and promises, family, friends, our home, our cats (of course), employment, and especially each other.  Hope your Thanksgiving was just wonderful!
